Monday Morning Wake-Up Call:
Your Motivation, Inspiration & Direction for the Week Ahead
Imagine for a moment that you are 65 years old, broke and your life is going nowhere. If you had to do something to make your life meaningful, and you were going to start today, what would do? You see, there was a man that we all know, who was broke, living in a tiny house and owned a yunker car, and he was living off of a $99 social security check. At 65 years of age, he decided things had to change. He thought about what he had to offer, and what he could do. His friends had always raved about his chicken recipe, so he decided this was his best shot at doing something with his life.
He left Kentucky and traveled to different states to try to sell his recipe. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouthwatering chicken recipe. He offered the recipe to them for free, just asking for a small percentage on the items sold. Sounds like a good deal, right?
Unfortunately, not to most of the restaurant owners. He heard NO over 1,000 times. Even after all those rejections, he didn’t give up. He believed his chicken recipe was something special. He got rejected 1,009 times before he heard his first yes.
With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the way Americans eat chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC, was born. Remember, never give up and always believe in yourself despite rejection. Keep the faith!
Something to Think About
Wow! What does it take to try something 1,009 times, being rejected each time, and not give up? It takes believing in your product or your service. Each day, agents “give up” because they believe selling real estate is too hard and they leave the business to get “a real job”. Today we celebrate you and your success for not giving up! For sticking with it in this extraordinary industry. Know I’m here to help in any way I can!
This week, offer encouragement to someone who is feeling defeated. I am sure that the Colonel had someone in his corner cheering him on, and helping him make it past all those no’s. This week, be that light for someone you might know. In fact, it might be a great time to get a mentoring group together so that you can share support all year around!
Words of Wisdom
“Never, never, never give up.” Winston Churchill
“For a lot of people, Superman is and has always been America’s hero. He stands for what we believe is the best within us: limitless strength tempered by compassion, that can bear adversity and emerge stronger on the other side. He stands for what we all feel we would like to be able to stand for, when standing is hardest.” J. Michael Straczynski
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” Calvin Coolidge
“Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success.” Napoleon Hill
“Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success.” Dale Carnegie
